General:

Education remains one of the most important fields for the Brunei - UK relations. By December 2008, more than 1,500 Bruneians study in the UK for various education levels.

For many years, the UK has held a reputation for being a world leader in welcoming international students. The Prime Minister's Initiative for International Education (PMI), is designed to encourage international students to study in the UK. It aims to build long-term and sustainable relations between the UK and overseas countries through education and training.

One of the key elements of the PMI is to make entry and visa arrangements more user-friendly. Through the provision of a quality visa experience to students, we hope to encourage and welcome more genuine students to the UK.

If you are planning to study in the UK or have queries regarding the UK education, please contact our Education Promotion Officer who will be happy to answer.

First time in the UK?
You may wish to read through this Personal Safety leaflet from the British Council, which was published especially for international students. Downloading may be slow, as the file is large (at 727K).

Do you want to know more about the Chevening Scholarships? Check the Chevening page.

Want to look for other scholarships? Do your own search here at the Education UK site or you can search for a scholarship by institution, charity or organisation.

Don't have a place yet? It is very useful that you check the UCAS website to know if there is a place available for you or if you wish to check the status of your application. UCAS is the central organisation that processes applications for full-time undergraduate courses at UK universities and colleges.

Have you got everything? How about visa? Check information including fee, on how and where to apply for the student's visa from our Visa page. If you intend to stay in the UK for less than six months or your course takes less than six months, you do not have to apply for one.

Good luck with your study!
