    The Foreign Office Historians have launched their latest online exhibition, which looks at the 1948 Olympics held in London and examines how the Cold War was played out at the Games.

    Earlier this morning the Olympic Flame was lit by the rays of the sun in an hour long traditional ceremony at the Temple of Hera, in the Ancient Stadium in Olympia, where the first Ancient Olympic Games took place.

    The School Games are in full swing at the Olympic Park, and this morning Foreign Office Minister Jeremy Browne welcomed young Brazilian athletes and the Brazilian Deputy Ambassador to the stadium.
