Please note that our customer target to renew passports is 10 working days. During this processing time, your passport will be retained in the Consular Section; this is a standard, global, working practice.

For this reason, we recommend that passport renewals be undertaken in the country of ordinary residence as we are unable to process applications faster for non-residents nor waive the above requirement.  

Since 8 September 2008, the British High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan has introduced interviews as part of the passport application process.

Passport services at our office:

At our office, you can:

• collect passport application forms;
• collect the LSO1 form to report your passport, lost or stolen;
• pay your passport fee in person by cash; and
• submit your passport application form in person.

Emergency passports are also issued at our office.

What to submit?

To apply for a UK passport in Brunei, you must submit:

• your completed application from;
• your 2 passport photographs;
• your supporting documents; and
• the correct fee in Brunei dollars.

Processing your passport application

It takes 10 working days to process your passport application from the date we receive it.

Our staff will not be able to process your application or there may be a delay issuing your passport if:

• you have used the wrong form or completed it incorrectly; or
• you do not provide the correct fee.
